Short Stories and poetry | Jamie Glaser | Never Forget

Never Forget

Never forget
If we do, change will become stagnant
And memories, vapors.
The stories will perish
With the survivors
Even terror needs a frame
To gaze into
When apathy haunts the mind.
Never again
Though it’s been close
The shadow of extermination looms
As differences are celebrated
Then tolerated
Then eliminated.
Society becomes a cyclone of
Chaotic blaming
As rumors travel like maple seeds
On a vast airway.
Information is a passenger
History is distorted
Yesterday becomes a debate
When it should be a truth, established.
