Short Stories and poetry | Jamie Glaser | High Holidays

High Holidays

We are always turning
We are sometimes afraid
Sometimes we just need reassurance
This season of turning
Is an illustration
Of every heartbeat we experience
We turn towards a rock that is higher
A throne that is wiser
We are prone to falling
And prone to rising again
We are not lost
Though sometimes turned around
The path is confusing
Until we decide
To walk it straight
Straight into the light
Which sheds peace and understanding
There is no wrong way
As long as we place
One foot in front of the other.
